2020 Chevrolet Silverado

One Capable Heavy Duty Truck

When you’re shopping for a heavy-duty pickup truck, it’s likely that one of your top priorities is a capable one. Luckily, Chevrolet has just introduced its most capable heavy-duty truck yet — the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD. The all-new Silverado HD has been engineered to offer a 52-percent increase in its maximum towing capability, allowing the truck to tow up to 35,500 pounds — perfect for getting any of your tougher jobs done.

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD Is Amazing

“We set out to make the best HD trucks on the market, bar none,” said Jaclyn McQuaid, chief engineer for the Silverado HD. “We increased towing capabilities across the line, not just for dually buyers. We added class-leading towing technologies, such as 15 available camera views, to make trailering more convenient, whether pulling a large cargo trailer or fifth-wheel camper. And we made a host of changes to make tasks easier.”

Even More Towing

Not only can the Silverado HD tow more, but it is also wider, longer, and taller. It has five trim levels to choose from – Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country — and also has 22 available cab, bed, chassis, and driveline configurations. With these options, you can easily get the pickup truck that’s just right for your needs. You will also have two engine options to choose from. A 6.6-liter V8 engine is standard, putting out 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. You can also opt for a diesel with the Duramax® 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8, which puts out 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.

This new heavy-duty pickup truck will be ready to go on sale this summer. In the meantime, stop by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet near Hickory, NC to test-drive our current inventory of Silverado models.

Strong Engine & Frame

Thanks to its strong engine and hefty frame, the Silverado can tackle tough climates and tougher jobs. Whether you live in Colorado and need to haul your snowboarding gear or you run a construction company in Alabama, you’ll feel confident behind the wheel of the Silverado. Tips for Taking Care of Your Silverado & Colorado

What Goes Into Taking Care of your Silverado Or Colorado?

According to registration data from the last three decades, the Chevrolet Silverado is the longest-lasting pickup truck, and the newer Colorado is built with the same great quality. Even so, keeping your Chevy truck running for years involves some work on the owner’s end. Here are some basic tips for taking care of your Silverado or Colorado.

Never miss an oil change

Oil changes are important for the engine health of cars and SUVs. Trucks are no different. Use your owner’s manual to keep track of when your Silverado or Chevrolet Colorado is next due.

Don’t forget the tires and wheels

If you get the oil changed at our dealership, we can also rotate the tires while we are at it to ensure even wear. You should also routinely get the alignment checked and have your tires balanced.

Check on your fluids

Your truck has a lot of essential fluids. We’ll check them and top them off during your visits, but you should watch them in between visits as well and refill as necessary. If you suspect a leak, bring your truck in right away.

Wash it regularly

Take pride in your truck by keeping it spotless. Doing so will also keep it from rusting.

If you need maintenance work done to your Silverado or Colorado to keep it healthy, bring it to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet near Hickory, NC. We’d be glad to work on it.

2018 Centennial Editions Celebrate 100 Years of Chevrolet Trucks

100 Years of Chevrolet Trucks

100 Years Of Greatness

Today, Chevrolet is one of the world’s foremost producers of high-feature trucks that drivers depend on for everything from work to play and everything in between. Such success doesn’t happen overnight, though. In fact, 2018 marks 100 years of Chevrolet trucks. Here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, we want to celebrate by taking a look at some highlights from a century of Chevy trucks.

Game-changing origins

The first purpose-built Chevrolet truck was first available 100 years ago, in 1918. The Chevrolet One-Ton was a budget-conscious, flexible truck platform available as a cowl and chassis or an express body with an option eight-post curtain top. The One-Ton was available for just over $1,000 and delivered 36 horsepower. Perhaps this doesn’t sound like much, but this was just the first in a line of now legendary Chevrolet trucks.

Legendary Legacy

By the 1960’s, Chevrolet trucks came in a variety of models and had huge appeal to drivers of all sorts. The 1967 C/K10 Series is a particular stand-out and signaled a shift in style that foreshadowed the signature look of modern classics like the Silverado. The C/K10 Series was affordable but boasted considerably more torque and power than early models like the original One-Ton.

Leading the way in performance and innovation

The 2018 Chevrolet Centennial Edition Silverado and Centennial Edition Colorado represent 100 years of automotive innovation, and one minute behind the wheel makes it obvious how much has gone into these impressive pickups.

Whether you need a powerful truck for the work site or a versatile weekend warrior, there has never been a better time to get a Chevrolet Truck than now, and you can find plenty of pickups here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, NC. We would love to help you find the perfect truck for you today!

Benefits of Lifted Trucks: Should You Buy a Lift Kit?

benefits of lifted trucks

Lifted Is Gifted

Why Buy A Lifted Truck?

Many truck owners prefer lifted trucks for a variety of reasons. In addition to the aesthetic appeal for many drivers, lifted trucks also provide improved visibility, a more comfortable daily drive, and better off-road capabilities. Whether you’d like a better way to explore dirt trails or you’re simply looking for a way to make your truck stand out, there are several benefits of lifted trucks.

It’s More Fun

According to Truck Trend, many prefer to drive on lifted trucks because daily driving is more enjoyable. For example, a Silverado with a 35-inch tire and 20-inch wheel has plenty of rubber to absorb any bumps or potholes. Larger diameter wheels not only add visible appeal, but they also tend to make driving more comfortable.

Better Visibility

Additionally, lifted trucks improve visibility. While a subcompact hatchback may be more affordable than a lifted truck, you’ll have a much better view of the road when you drive a lifted Silverado. As Harley Camilleri writes for Truck Trend, “With the truck’s inherently taller design, adding a suspension lift to the equation allows the driver and passenger alike a much clearer view of the road ahead and better ability to avoid a possible hazard, or slowing traffic farther ahead.”

Superior Off-Road Vehicles

Finally, lifted trucks are simply better off-road. With added ride height, you can easily clear obstacles like tree limbs, water, rocks, and ruts. Whether you’re driving on dunes or through snowy plateaus, a lifted truck affords many opportunities you simply don’t get with other vehicles.
