2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD Revealed

Chevrolet has been on a roll with truck debut after truck debut, and now the automaker is looking to keep the good times rolling. Hot off the debut of the 2019 Silverado 1500, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD promises to bring a bolder look to the segment. According to Chevrolet Global Head Alan Batey, a new, expanded range of Silverado models will make its way to the industry sometime soon. The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD promises more customization and capability, all while maintaining the reliability and longevity that drivers love.

Your Presence Will Be Known

Based on the teaser image released a few weeks ago, the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado HD will feature a bolder stance and larger proportions that make the trucks’ presence known. The heavy-duty truck will also be designed according to the needs of heavy-duty truck buyers. The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD will be built at the Flint Assembly facility. The model is expected to hit dealership lots by fall of 2019.

More Heavy Duty Options

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD follows the official debut of the 2019 Silverado 1500. The all-new model weighs less than its predecessor and will bring plenty of upgrades to the full-size truck segment. Chevrolet also recently showed off a line of chassis-cab trucks. The Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD will make their way to the lineup later this year. The medium-duty pickups will provide drivers with even more truck options.

2018 Centennial Editions Celebrate 100 Years of Chevrolet Trucks

100 Years of Chevrolet Trucks

100 Years Of Greatness

Today, Chevrolet is one of the world’s foremost producers of high-feature trucks that drivers depend on for everything from work to play and everything in between. Such success doesn’t happen overnight, though. In fact, 2018 marks 100 years of Chevrolet trucks. Here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, we want to celebrate by taking a look at some highlights from a century of Chevy trucks.

Game-changing origins

The first purpose-built Chevrolet truck was first available 100 years ago, in 1918. The Chevrolet One-Ton was a budget-conscious, flexible truck platform available as a cowl and chassis or an express body with an option eight-post curtain top. The One-Ton was available for just over $1,000 and delivered 36 horsepower. Perhaps this doesn’t sound like much, but this was just the first in a line of now legendary Chevrolet trucks.

Legendary Legacy

By the 1960’s, Chevrolet trucks came in a variety of models and had huge appeal to drivers of all sorts. The 1967 C/K10 Series is a particular stand-out and signaled a shift in style that foreshadowed the signature look of modern classics like the Silverado. The C/K10 Series was affordable but boasted considerably more torque and power than early models like the original One-Ton.

Leading the way in performance and innovation

The 2018 Chevrolet Centennial Edition Silverado and Centennial Edition Colorado represent 100 years of automotive innovation, and one minute behind the wheel makes it obvious how much has gone into these impressive pickups.

Whether you need a powerful truck for the work site or a versatile weekend warrior, there has never been a better time to get a Chevrolet Truck than now, and you can find plenty of pickups here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, NC. We would love to help you find the perfect truck for you today!

Benefits of Lifted Trucks: Should You Buy a Lift Kit?

Lifted Is Gifted

Why Buy A Lifted Truck?

Many truck owners prefer lifted trucks for a variety of reasons. In addition to the aesthetic appeal for many drivers, lifted trucks also provide improved visibility, a more comfortable daily drive, and better off-road capabilities. Whether you’d like a better way to explore dirt trails or you’re simply looking for a way to make your truck stand out, there are several benefits of lifted trucks.

It’s More Fun

According to Truck Trend, many prefer to drive on lifted trucks because daily driving is more enjoyable. For example, a Silverado with a 35-inch tire and 20-inch wheel has plenty of rubber to absorb any bumps or potholes. Larger diameter wheels not only add visible appeal, but they also tend to make driving more comfortable.

Better Visibility

Additionally, lifted trucks improve visibility. While a subcompact hatchback may be more affordable than a lifted truck, you’ll have a much better view of the road when you drive a lifted Silverado. As Harley Camilleri writes for Truck Trend, “With the truck’s inherently taller design, adding a suspension lift to the equation allows the driver and passenger alike a much clearer view of the road ahead and better ability to avoid a possible hazard, or slowing traffic farther ahead.”

Superior Off-Road Vehicles

Finally, lifted trucks are simply better off-road. With added ride height, you can easily clear obstacles like tree limbs, water, rocks, and ruts. Whether you’re driving on dunes or through snowy plateaus, a lifted truck affords many opportunities you simply don’t get with other vehicles.

“The economic recovery has led to booming sales of high-end pickups like the Silverado High Country,” said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks. “But there are also millions of customers in the heart of the market who want a great looking, well-equipped truck at an affordable price. The Silverado Custom is a truck they can be proud to own and proud to drive.”

Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition Offers Versatility for All

While the Chevrolet Silverado is currently considered one of the most appealing trucks in its segment, the American carmaker has decided to make the pickup even better with an all-new Custom Sport package. The Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition adds a touch of sophistication, along with plenty of features, to pay homage to one of the most iconic pickups in Chevrolet’s history.

“The Custom Sport special edition was inspired by Chevy Custom Sport Trucks of the late 1960s,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks marketing director. “Those CST models added a touch of elegance to a great all-around truck, just like the Custom Sport package for the new Silverado.”

The package offers body-colored front and rear bumpers, a body-colored grille surround, and a chrome-accented black grille. 20-inch chrome wheels add a touch of elegance, along with chrome door handles and mirror caps, and chrome body-side moldings.

Dealers will begin taking orders for the Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition this month, with the package adding anywhere from $1,950 to $2,950 to the Silverado’s price. Stop in to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet today to see what this package has to offer!

How Chevy “Technology and Stuff” Mishap Turned into an Opportunity

By now you’ve likely heard about the Chevy “technology and stuff” mishap. In case you missed it, here’s a quick recap: during the presentation of the World Series MVP award a couple of weeks ago, Chevrolet spokesman Rikk Wilde stumbled over his lines. While presenting the features of the new Chevrolet Silverado, Wilde said the truck “combines class winning and leading, um, you know, technology and stuff.”

These things happen, but when it happens on national television in front of a live audience, a little stumble can feel painfully awkward. Instead of pretending it didn’t happen, Chevy embraced the error that any human could have made, and capitalized on the opportunity to poke a little fun at itself via social media. The result? Chevy turned the blunder into an opportunity to relate with its audience.

While this isn’t the sort of publicity any company hopes or plans for, Chevy’s marketing team was able to turn embarrassing into funny, with a simple tweet. The team posted a picture of the Silverado along with this: “Ya know … class leading technology and stuff.” According to forbes.com, it only took a few minutes for #technologyandstuff and #chevyguy to start tending across multiple social media platforms.

After noticing such a positive and playful response, the automaker went so far as to update their television commercial to say, “you know you want a truck … and stuff.”

This is a prime example of the power of opportunity, quick thinking, and a sense of humor.

So, are you ready to test drive a Silverado… and stuff? Stop by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet today to see all that technology… and stuff, for yourself. Ok, we’re done now.

Equinox, Silverado to Feature in Chevrolet Fountain at Comerica Park

General Motors has sponsored the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park since 2000—first with the General Motors Fountain up to 2008, then with the Chevrolet Fountain starting in 2010. This year, when you go to Detroit to eat a hot dog and watch the highest paid player in baseball hit some homers, you’ll be able to see the ball soar right over the Chevrolet Equinox and Silverado adorning the 2014Chevrolet Fountain out in center field.

2014 Silverado at Chevrolet Fountain“Chevrolet is the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball and what better symbol can there be than having our vehicles in such a prominent place in our hometown stadium?” asked Paul Edwards, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. You’ll get your chance to see the Equinox and Silverado bookending the fountain when the Detroit Tigers take on the Kansas City Royals on Opening Day.

The vehicles were lifted into place by a crane this past Thursday, a quick four days before Opening Day. If you can’t make the drive up to Detroit, you can come see those two popular vehicles—plus the rest of our great inventory—down here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet.
