The 2015 Silverado Custom Features: Strong and Simple

Chevy is getting back to the basics with the new 2015 Silverado Custom. This new package offers drivers a chance to experience the best in pickup engineering, with simple styling and high-performance technology.2015 Silverado Custom features

According to Chevy, the 2015 Silverado Custom features include alloy wheels, exterior chrome trim, Chevy MyLink, and Wi-Fi among other things. All of this will come in a double-cab, with an array of engine options. The standard will be the massive 5.3-liter EcoTec V8, capable of producing 355 hp and getting up to 23 mpg highway.

“The economic recovery has led to booming sales of high-end pickups like the Silverado High Country,” said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks. “But there are also millions of customers in the heart of the market who want a great looking, well-equipped truck at an affordable price. The Silverado Custom is a truck they can be proud to own and proud to drive.”

The Custom model is for pickup owners that are looking for durable trucks that last a long time. Not only is the new model incredibly tough thanks to high-strength steel, but it is also easy to maintain and inexpensive to repair. This truck is ideal for any hard-working owner.

Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition Offers Versatility for All

While the Chevrolet Silverado is currently considered one of the most appealing trucks in its segment, the American carmaker has decided to make the pickup even better with an all-new Custom Sport package. The Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition adds a touch of sophistication, along with plenty of features, to pay homage to one of the most iconic pickups in Chevrolet’s history.

“The Custom Sport special edition was inspired by Chevy Custom Sport Trucks of the late 1960s,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks marketing director. “Those CST models added a touch of elegance to a great all-around truck, just like the Custom Sport package for the new Silverado.”

The package offers body-colored front and rear bumpers, a body-colored grille surround, and a chrome-accented black grille. 20-inch chrome wheels add a touch of elegance, along with chrome door handles and mirror caps, and chrome body-side moldings.

Dealers will begin taking orders for the Chevrolet Silverado Custom Sport Edition this month, with the package adding anywhere from $1,950 to $2,950 to the Silverado’s price. Stop in to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet today to see what this package has to offer!

How Chevy “Technology and Stuff” Mishap Turned into an Opportunity

By now you’ve likely heard about the Chevy “technology and stuff” mishap. In case you missed it, here’s a quick recap: during the presentation of the World Series MVP award a couple of weeks ago, Chevrolet spokesman Rikk Wilde stumbled over his lines. While presenting the features of the new Chevrolet Silverado, Wilde said the truck “combines class winning and leading, um, you know, technology and stuff.”

These things happen, but when it happens on national television in front of a live audience, a little stumble can feel painfully awkward. Instead of pretending it didn’t happen, Chevy embraced the error that any human could have made, and capitalized on the opportunity to poke a little fun at itself via social media. The result? Chevy turned the blunder into an opportunity to relate with its audience.

While this isn’t the sort of publicity any company hopes or plans for, Chevy’s marketing team was able to turn embarrassing into funny, with a simple tweet. The team posted a picture of the Silverado along with this: “Ya know … class leading technology and stuff.” According to forbes.com, it only took a few minutes for #technologyandstuff and #chevyguy to start tending across multiple social media platforms.

After noticing such a positive and playful response, the automaker went so far as to update their television commercial to say, “you know you want a truck … and stuff.”

This is a prime example of the power of opportunity, quick thinking, and a sense of humor.

So, are you ready to test drive a Silverado… and stuff? Stop by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet today to see all that technology… and stuff, for yourself. Ok, we’re done now.

Equinox, Silverado to Feature in Chevrolet Fountain at Comerica Park

General Motors has sponsored the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park since 2000—first with the General Motors Fountain up to 2008, then with the Chevrolet Fountain starting in 2010. This year, when you go to Detroit to eat a hot dog and watch the highest paid player in baseball hit some homers, you’ll be able to see the ball soar right over the Chevrolet Equinox and Silverado adorning the 2014Chevrolet Fountain out in center field.

2014 Silverado at Chevrolet Fountain“Chevrolet is the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball and what better symbol can there be than having our vehicles in such a prominent place in our hometown stadium?” asked Paul Edwards, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. You’ll get your chance to see the Equinox and Silverado bookending the fountain when the Detroit Tigers take on the Kansas City Royals on Opening Day.

The vehicles were lifted into place by a crane this past Thursday, a quick four days before Opening Day. If you can’t make the drive up to Detroit, you can come see those two popular vehicles—plus the rest of our great inventory—down here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet.

Silverado Sales Soar in Part to New EcoTec3 V6 Engine

The 2014 Silverado is experiencing a big increase in market share; the Silverado currently accounts for 20 percent of light-duty pickup truck sales. That number is up from the 5 percent share of the market the previous model had earned. So what’s driving the 2014 Silverado’s newfound success? Well, that would be the brand new EcoTec3 V6 engine.

A Chevrolet press release listed five different ways the Silverado’s new V6 engine sets the truck apart from the competition. Here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, we can sum up the list in just a few words: continued excellence and improved efficiency. The new engine is a 4.3L EcoTec3 V6, built to fit perfectly under the hood of a pickup. And it lives up to the challenge splendidly—coaxing 285 horsepower, 305 lb-ft. of torque, and 7,600 lbs of available towing out of the Silverado.

The new EcoTec3 V6 is also intended to save you money when it comes to filling up your tank. The engine offers direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing, and an Active Fuel Management program, all of which work to achieve maximum efficiency out of your Silverado. Chevrolet’s attention to detail and use of advanced technology leads the Silverado to a 20 mpg combined rating, which makes it more than good enough to earn a best in its class distinction. At the end of the day, that’s the real story: the EcoTec3 V6 engine helps put the 2014 Silverado in a class all its own.

Best Car and Truck of 2014 are….the Chevrolet Impala and Silverado

Cars.com has announced its winners of the Best Car and Best Truck of 2014: the Chevrolet Impala sedan and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 full-size pickup.

After careful deliberation and examination of the vehicles’ attention to innovation, quality, and value, both awards were presented at the North American International Auto Show. The Impala and Silverado were chosen from five other nominees in their respective categories.

The Impala received praise for its high-quality materials, excellent MyLink multimedia system, updated styling, and efficient powertrains, while the Silverado received high marks for its chassis strength, redesigned interior, and—once again—MyLink.

“Winning just one of these awards for an automaker is pretty tough, given the high number of quality cars and trucks that debut each year,” said Patrick Olsen, editor-in-chief of Cars.com. “For Chevrolet to grab both awards shows the depth of their ability to build desirable vehicles.”

This year’s winners of the Best Car and Best Truck of 2014 are available at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet!

Work Made Easy with Silverado’s Pick-Up Box

2014 Chevy Silverado at Dale Earnhardt ChevroletChevrolet has spent a lot of time and energy to make sure that the new Silverado has a convenient and usable bed. As we all know, even the most powerful truck is only capable of so much if in fact putting cargo into the truck is an aggravation.

Thanks to the Silverado’s pick-up box, loading and unloading cargo is a breeze. “Silverado owners are the doers of the world,” said Lloyd Biermann, Silverado marketing manager. “Our goal when designing the Silverado’s pickup box was to create something that was stronger, more durable and versatile to help our owners get their toughest jobs done.”

Due to its great functionality and innovative design, the Silverado is arguably one of the most (possibly the most) trouble-free trucks to handle. LED box lights make it easier to find cargo in the box, which is perfect when the sun starts to go down and the work keeps going. There is an internal torsion bar that reduces the effort it takes to raise the tailgate and a rotary damper that makes it easier to open it gradually. Just in case you’re hauling some awkward loads (like moving your kids out), the unique steps are designed to accommodate work boots and they can be used whether the tailgate is up or down.

The handy add-ons don’t stop there. Hand grip pockets give you easier access into the box and removable upper tie-down hooks provide maximum flexibility when securing cargo of various shapes and size. The Silverado’s main point is this: there is no job too big or small for this truck.

So get ready to load up your bed and come get your 2014 Silverado today at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet.
