Get Ready For Fun In the Chevy Cruze

If you’re looking for the perfect new vehicle, you might be pleasantly surprised to learn just how versatile the compact car segment can be. The Chevy Cruze is the best of its kind, and fits perfectly with many different lifestyles. Here are our five favorite benefits of driving a Chevy Cruze from Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet.

Fuel Efficiency

Whether you opt for the sedan or the first-ever hatchback Chevy Cruze, you’ll find that this tiny car sips the gas. At best, the Cruze gets up to 40 mpg highway*, allowing you to spend less time at the gas pump and more time on the road.

Cargo Space

Despite its compact size, there’s plenty of space inside of the Cruze for cargo and passengers. Versatile seating makes room for up to 47.2 cu. ft. of cargo in the hatchback model.

Chevy Cruze Safety

The Chevy Cruze is full of proactive and reactive safety features, including available driver assist technologies and 10 standard airbags.

Intelligent Tech

You’ll have a hard time finding the latest technology in most compact cars. But in the Chevy Cruze, the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch color touch screen is the standard. Add to that smartphone compatibility and available Wi-Fi, and the Cruze is as good as an office away from home.

Diesel Option

The Chevy Cruze is full of surprises, the latest one being the all-new 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Sedan. The 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine gets up to 52 mpg highway* making it the most efficient non-hybrid option in the country.

Chevrolet SEMA Lineup is Performance-Inspired

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas is one of the most interesting car shows of the year. While you won’t see many new models debut, you will see some amazing customizations.

This year, the Chevrolet SEMA lineup is performance-inspired and features customized versions of the SS Sport, Sonic, Impala, and Cruze.

“Chevrolet’s 2015 passenger car lineup is one of the strongest and most competitive in the industry, offering customers a wide range of great-looking, great-driving and well-connected choices,” said Paul Edwards, vice president, Chevrolet Marketing, in a statement. “They’re personal cars, too, and these concepts suggest possibilities of how to amplify Chevrolet’s heritage of performance and fun-to-drive spirit to make them even more personal.”

The custom cars on display will show many accessories that are currently available from Chevrolet dealers and a few that are being considered for production.

While the small Chevrolet Cruze may seem like an unlikely candidate for a performance car, just check out what Chevrolet engineers can do. For SEMA, engineers gave the Cruze the RS Plus treatment. With this available package, it adds rocker molding, a rear spoiler, unique fascias, and flog lamps. Inside, a sporty instrument cluster adds chrome accent rings and opaque cluster bezels with ice blue backlighting.

The custom package on display at the show will include a unique Wildfire Metallic paint job, unique lower body molding, and a custom rear spoiler.

Chevrolet Named Diesel Manufacturer of the Year

Diesel drivers everywhere love Chevrolet, and that’s why The Diesel Driver magazine named the brand the Diesel Manufacturer of the Year, based on votes received by the magazine. Chevy blew away the competition, taking a whopping 45 percent of the votes by brand. The Chevy Cruze Diesel, which was also named the Diesel Car of the Year, was even more dominant in its win. It took 59.3 percent of the votes for best diesel car, beating out prestigious competition from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche, among others.

“The Chevrolet Cruze Diesel, with a market-leading 46 mpg highway, is clearly setting the pace for diesel-powered cars in the United States,” Jonathan Spira, editorial director of The Diesel Driver, said. “The message from our readers is clear. Diesels are back and Chevrolet is in the forefront.”

The Cruze Diesel features a 2.0L clean turbo-diesel engine to achieve a 46 mpg highway mark. With that engine, the Cruze Diesel is able to chronicle a 717 mile trip on one tank of diesel fuel. That comes out to approximately 10 hours of highway driving. The updated 2015 Cruze is on display right now at the New York International Auto Show. You can check it out there or come in to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet to see the award-winning Chevrolet Cruze Diesel firsthand.
