2016 Chevrolet Spark Debut Sparks Interest at New York Auto Show

It looks like Chevrolet has finally found the perfect spark to set fire to the brand’s future—the 2016 Chevrolet Spark. The newest, completely redesigned model of the global minicar was unveiled earlier this month at the New York International Auto Show, showcasing a more innovative, more efficient powertrain, along with more safety and connectivity features.

“Chevrolet is fast becoming one of the world’s most important mini- and small car manufacturers, offering customers around the globe a new road to the refinement, efficiency, and connectivity features that resonate with them,” said Alan Batey, president, GM North America, and Global Chevrolet. “The redesigned 2016 Spark builds on a strong legacy and takes the segment to a higher level with features and technologies not typically offered.”

The 2016 Chevrolet Spark debut showed off a sleeker appearance and lower profile, which helps reduce aerodynamic drag and enhances fuel efficiency. An all-new Ecotec 1.4-liter I-4 engine also helps increase fuel economy, delivering a GM-estimated 40 miles per gallon highway.

Chevrolet’s newest Spark model will go on sale in the United States in late 2015. Until then, don’t forget to stop in to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet to see what other fuel-efficient vehicles our brand has to offer.

The 2015 Silverado Custom Features: Strong and Simple

Chevy is getting back to the basics with the new 2015 Silverado Custom. This new package offers drivers a chance to experience the best in pickup engineering, with simple styling and high-performance technology.2015 Silverado Custom features

According to Chevy, the 2015 Silverado Custom features include alloy wheels, exterior chrome trim, Chevy MyLink, and Wi-Fi among other things. All of this will come in a double-cab, with an array of engine options. The standard will be the massive 5.3-liter EcoTec V8, capable of producing 355 hp and getting up to 23 mpg highway.

“The economic recovery has led to booming sales of high-end pickups like the Silverado High Country,” said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks. “But there are also millions of customers in the heart of the market who want a great looking, well-equipped truck at an affordable price. The Silverado Custom is a truck they can be proud to own and proud to drive.”

The Custom model is for pickup owners that are looking for durable trucks that last a long time. Not only is the new model incredibly tough thanks to high-strength steel, but it is also easy to maintain and inexpensive to repair. This truck is ideal for any hard-working owner.

Upcoming 2016 Equinox Comes on the Heels of Record January Sales

The Chevrolet Equinox continued to impress customers at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet all throughout last month, and even managed to score its best January performance ever with nearly 20,000 models sold in the country.

2015 Equinox

That marks a 34 percent increase over the same period last year and builds upon the fifth consecutive year of record sales. Last year, the Equinox became the second-best selling vehicle in Chevrolet’s lineup, behind the Silverado full-size pickup, and accounted for more than 9 percent of the rapidly-growing compact SUV market.

“The Equinox continues to win customers with its value-driven balance of performance, versatility and personal connectivity,” said GM North America President Alan Batey. “It also represents the depth of Chevrolet’s strong SUV lineup, ranging from the all-new Trax small SUV and Traverse to the redesigned 2015 Suburban and Tahoe.”

While announcing the performance, Chevy used the opportunity to inform us about the upcoming 2016 Equinox that was revealed at the Chicago Auto Show. The crossover’s front fascia, features new headlamps and LED running lights.

Chevrolet SEMA Lineup is Performance-Inspired

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas is one of the most interesting car shows of the year. While you won’t see many new models debut, you will see some amazing customizations.

This year, the Chevrolet SEMA lineup is performance-inspired and features customized versions of the SS Sport, Sonic, Impala, and Cruze.

“Chevrolet’s 2015 passenger car lineup is one of the strongest and most competitive in the industry, offering customers a wide range of great-looking, great-driving and well-connected choices,” said Paul Edwards, vice president, Chevrolet Marketing, in a statement. “They’re personal cars, too, and these concepts suggest possibilities of how to amplify Chevrolet’s heritage of performance and fun-to-drive spirit to make them even more personal.”

The custom cars on display will show many accessories that are currently available from Chevrolet dealers and a few that are being considered for production.

While the small Chevrolet Cruze may seem like an unlikely candidate for a performance car, just check out what Chevrolet engineers can do. For SEMA, engineers gave the Cruze the RS Plus treatment. With this available package, it adds rocker molding, a rear spoiler, unique fascias, and flog lamps. Inside, a sporty instrument cluster adds chrome accent rings and opaque cluster bezels with ice blue backlighting.

The custom package on display at the show will include a unique Wildfire Metallic paint job, unique lower body molding, and a custom rear spoiler.

NAIAS Reveal Planned for 2016 Chevy Volt

It’s finally time to start looking forward to the 2015 North American International Auto Show. For those of you who have been counting down since last year’s show, well you were just ahead of the game. We can all be excited together to hear the rumors about the 2016 models. This year, the Chevrolet rumors are focusing on the Volt. After four years of lackluster sales for the Chevy Volt, Chevrolet had two options; ditch the car completely, or create a new generation model that will fix the problem spots and wow auto-enthusiasts.

Chevy has chosen to give the Volt another chance, and will be revealing the 2016 Chevy Volt at NAIAS January 17-25, 2015. The next generation Volt should be going through some serious updates, including a third seat in the back row and a smaller, more efficient gasoline engine.

“Volt is the perfect example of the ingenuity that drives everything we do at Chevrolet,” said Tim Mahoney, Global Chevrolet Chief Marketing Officer. “Volt fully delivers on the promises of Find New Roads and will continue to provide consumers with the transportation solutions they need and deserve in the future.”

While sales may have been down lately, the Volt hasn’t been a bust by any means. With 65,000 total units sold, the four-seater Volt may be one of America’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicles – Chevrolet just had higher sales expectations than that. Everyone who buys a Volt falls in love with it. Why buy it otherwise, right?

We’re hopeful, and so is Chevrolet, at a new generation will generate new interest in a stellar hybrid-electric sedan.

If you don’t want to wait for the 2016 Chevy Volt to hit the floor, come by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet today and we’ll show the way to winning a Volt’s engine.

Chevrolet Named Diesel Manufacturer of the Year

Diesel drivers everywhere love Chevrolet, and that’s why The Diesel Driver magazine named the brand the Diesel Manufacturer of the Year, based on votes received by the magazine. Chevy blew away the competition, taking a whopping 45 percent of the votes by brand. The Chevy Cruze Diesel, which was also named the Diesel Car of the Year, was even more dominant in its win. It took 59.3 percent of the votes for best diesel car, beating out prestigious competition from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche, among others.

“The Chevrolet Cruze Diesel, with a market-leading 46 mpg highway, is clearly setting the pace for diesel-powered cars in the United States,” Jonathan Spira, editorial director of The Diesel Driver, said. “The message from our readers is clear. Diesels are back and Chevrolet is in the forefront.”

The Cruze Diesel features a 2.0L clean turbo-diesel engine to achieve a 46 mpg highway mark. With that engine, the Cruze Diesel is able to chronicle a 717 mile trip on one tank of diesel fuel. That comes out to approximately 10 hours of highway driving. The updated 2015 Cruze is on display right now at the New York International Auto Show. You can check it out there or come in to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet to see the award-winning Chevrolet Cruze Diesel firsthand.

Z06 Convertible to Debut at NY Auto Show

The last time Chevrolet offered a brand-new, off-the-factory-line Z06 convertible option was over fifty years ago. For the first time since 1963, you’ll be able to buy a “drop-top” version of Chevy’s ultra-performance driven version of the legendary Corvette. You should be aware that these cars are coveted; the first one sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Florida, to a devoted Corvette collector named Rick Hendrick, for no less than $1 million.

Besides getting people to bid for the prestige of being the first new Z06 owner, the new convertible is also garnering huge amounts of anticipation from its new look and impressive performance numbers. It all adds up to a fever pitch of excitement heading into the New York International Auto Show, which will open on April 16.

When the 16th finally rolls around, we’ll finally get to see the finished product up on display in all its topless, 625 horsepower, 635 lb-ft of torque glory. The new Corvette can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, but you might have to wait till you can come in to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet and test drive the Z06 to test out performance numbers like that.

What you won’t need to wait for is confirmation that the 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible is the most powerful Chevy convertible ever made. “The Z06 Convertible is a world-class supercar in every sense,” Mark Reuss, executive vice president of Global Product Development, said in a press release. “Only a handful of convertibles in the world bring more than 600 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. Even fewer can match the advanced technologies, aeroydynamic design, and visceral driving experience of the Z06 Convertible.”

Remember to check out the Z06 Convertible’s NY Auto Show debut and check back with us on the blog for more Chevy updates!

Best Car and Truck of 2014 are….the Chevrolet Impala and Silverado

Cars.com has announced its winners of the Best Car and Best Truck of 2014: the Chevrolet Impala sedan and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 full-size pickup.

After careful deliberation and examination of the vehicles’ attention to innovation, quality, and value, both awards were presented at the North American International Auto Show. The Impala and Silverado were chosen from five other nominees in their respective categories.

The Impala received praise for its high-quality materials, excellent MyLink multimedia system, updated styling, and efficient powertrains, while the Silverado received high marks for its chassis strength, redesigned interior, and—once again—MyLink.

“Winning just one of these awards for an automaker is pretty tough, given the high number of quality cars and trucks that debut each year,” said Patrick Olsen, editor-in-chief of Cars.com. “For Chevrolet to grab both awards shows the depth of their ability to build desirable vehicles.”

This year’s winners of the Best Car and Best Truck of 2014 are available at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet!
