2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD Capability

The Most Capable TrucksHeavy-duty trucks are the most capable vehicles in the industry – and the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is set to raise the bar on what this segment can achieve when it comes to capability. According to Chevrolet, the newest Silverado HD will be the most capable and the most advanced Silverado HD ever. It will come with the choice of two new powertrains. The first is an all-new gasoline engine, which will be mated with a six-speed transmission.

Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 Engine

For diesel fans, the Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine is an attractive option to increase 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD capability even more. It comes mated to an all-new Allison 10-speed transmission and puts out an outstanding 910 lb-ft of torque. On the outside, the 2020 Silverado HD will put forward a bold look, reflecting its work horse roots. Its masculine silhouette will differentiate it from its light-duty sibling, while also adding an additional three inches of legroom and a taller seating position.

“We know the needs and priorities of heavy-duty customers are different than those of either light-duty or medium-duty customers,” said Jaclyn McQuaid, chief engineer for the Silverado HD. “As such, we built a heavy-duty truck tailor-made for them that has more differentiation than ever before from light-duty models, offers advanced towing technologies to improve towing confidence, and includes new features such as the integrated Bedstep, which makes it easier to access the bed while pulling a fifth-wheel trailer.”

Coming Soon!

The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD debut is set for February 2019. It will be the third Silverado model to be introduced in just 18 months, and you will be able to find all of them here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet.

Benefits of Lifted Trucks: Should You Buy a Lift Kit?

Lifted Is Gifted

Why Buy A Lifted Truck?

Many truck owners prefer lifted trucks for a variety of reasons. In addition to the aesthetic appeal for many drivers, lifted trucks also provide improved visibility, a more comfortable daily drive, and better off-road capabilities. Whether you’d like a better way to explore dirt trails or you’re simply looking for a way to make your truck stand out, there are several benefits of lifted trucks.

It’s More Fun

According to Truck Trend, many prefer to drive on lifted trucks because daily driving is more enjoyable. For example, a Silverado with a 35-inch tire and 20-inch wheel has plenty of rubber to absorb any bumps or potholes. Larger diameter wheels not only add visible appeal, but they also tend to make driving more comfortable.

Better Visibility

Additionally, lifted trucks improve visibility. While a subcompact hatchback may be more affordable than a lifted truck, you’ll have a much better view of the road when you drive a lifted Silverado. As Harley Camilleri writes for Truck Trend, “With the truck’s inherently taller design, adding a suspension lift to the equation allows the driver and passenger alike a much clearer view of the road ahead and better ability to avoid a possible hazard, or slowing traffic farther ahead.”

Superior Off-Road Vehicles

Finally, lifted trucks are simply better off-road. With added ride height, you can easily clear obstacles like tree limbs, water, rocks, and ruts. Whether you’re driving on dunes or through snowy plateaus, a lifted truck affords many opportunities you simply don’t get with other vehicles.
