For those of us who grew up wanting to be David Hasselhoff from Knight Rider, Siri Eyes Free mode available in the 2013 Chevy Spark and Sonic comes as close as anything to helping us live the dream of our very own talking car. With the successful integration of Siri into those Chevrolet vehicles, the automaker and Apple will be expanding Eyes Free Mode into six new vehicles in the 2014 lineup.
“The response to Siri Eyes Free integration in Chevy Sonic and Spark from our customers has been remarkable,” Chevrolet Vice President of U.S. Marketing Chris Perry said in a statement. “Easy, reliable, and portable connectivity is a top priority for our customers.”
Such a priority is that connectivity that Chevrolet has opted to include Siri Eyes Free Integration in the 2014 Camaro, Cruze, Equinox, Malibu, SS, and Volt vehicles fitted with Chevy’s MyLink technology. Through their vehicle’s infotainment system, iPhone-toting drivers can command Siri to make calls, listen to and compose messages and emails, access calendar and add appointments, play songs in iTunes, and answer any number of pressing questions.
Many of these Eyes Free-ready vehicles are available right here at Earnhardt Chevy, ready to tell you all about the answer to the universe and about its efforts to learn the complexities of friendship.
