The Dale Trail in Kannapolis, NC

The Dale Trail

Take The Family Around The Dale Trail

Kannapolis, North Carolina, is the birthplace of legendary NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt and the home of the Dale Trail. The Dale Trail is a tour of Kannapolis landmarks that relate to Earnhardt’s life and NASCAR career.

The trail starts at Dale Earnhardt Boulevard, a street named for Earnhardt, and continues to the neighborhood where he grew up. Called Car Town, the neighborhood points out spots where Earnhardt learned to drive. Here you can learn about how Dale Earnhardt got his start in racing and how he was influenced by his father, Ralph Earnhardt, also a racing legend.

The Dale Trail takes you past Ralph Earnhardt’s gravestone in the Centergrove Lutheran Cemetery and the garage where Ralph learned to fix cars. Then you’ll go to Dale Earnhardt Plaza in downtown Kannapolis, where a massive statue of Dale Earnhardt stands next to a monument on which Dale fans wrote inscriptions.

The Curb Motorsports Museum and Dale Earnhardt Inc. are both a dream come true for NASCAR fans and packed with exhibits and memorabilia. If you’re still looking for more after all these stops, drive north to Richard Childress Racing for even more Earnhardt exhibits and a look into the shop for Dale’s team and car.

A visit to Kannapolis is a must for any Earnhardt or NASCAR fan! And for some extra fun, come to the Dale’s dealership, Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, in Newton, NC. We have Earnhardt trivia on out site, as well!

Enjoy a Carolina Panthers Game Day Experience

panthers game day experience

Experience The Panthers Up Close & Personal

Here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, we love us some Carolina Panthers football. While football seems to be a love it or hate it sport, no one can deny that football brings a lot of people together and creates a sense of community.

Want to feel like you’re part of a family with 73,000 members? Just head to a game for a Panthers game day experience like never before.

Before the game even starts, head to the Panthers Lair located near the South Gate and East Gate of Bank of America Stadium. The fun starts two hours before kickoff and includes visits from the TopCats, Sir Purr, PurrCussion, and radio personalities. Kids of all ages will love the face painting, interactive games, and fun giveaway prizes. What makes the Panthers Lair so great is that it is free, so even if you don’t have tickets to the game, you can still get pumped up for some Panthers action.

Some more pre-game festivities are at Panthers in the Park, located at Romare Bearden Park in Third Ward between Church Street and Mint Street. This opens two-and-a-half hours before the game and includes fun kids’ activities and visits from the TopCats, Sir Purr, and the PurrCussion drumline.

Once you’re in the stadium, the fun continues, of course. Cheer on the team through four quarters of play, enjoy some great halftime entertainment, and so much more. If you brought your kids and they’re feeling a bit squirrely, take them to Sir Purr’s Play Den located on the 100 level by section 138. Here they can practice their football skills, suit up like the players, announce plays, and even compare their weight to the Panthers players.

With so much to do, you might be wondering, “Why haven’t I gone to a Panthers game yet?” If you go tell all of Kannapolis, NC how it was, right here!
