Fall Bucket List in Newton

Fall Bucket List

Fall With Friends

Take a Scenic Foliage Drive

Hop into your Chevrolet Malibu and take a drive down a country road lined with trees. If the timing is right, the ground will be covered in beautiful hues of orange, red, and yellow. The trees themselves will paint the sky as they prepare to give way to winter. Get behind the wheel of your Chevrolet vehicle and make a drive before the branches are bare.

Attend a Fall Festival

Every major city tends to feature a fall festival. Even if they aren’t near you, many are well worth the drive. Fall festivals feature classic attractions, such as pumpkin picking and corn mazes, as well as great food and company.

Bake a Pie For Your Fall Bucket List

Baking a pie is a great way to stay warm on a chilly fall day. Whether you plan on baking an apple or pecan pie, consider sharing with your neighbor to get into the fall spirit.

Fourk

At Fourk, they do everything “with a twist;” a tasty twist that is. Fallen Roads Around North Carolina

Fall is the perfect time to go for a ride in North Carolina. That’s why we’ve posted a list of fall driving locations in the area, specifically country roads you won’t want to leave. The open road, crisp air, and autumn foliage are the perfect way to relax on a fall day.

According to OnlyInYourState, every North Carolinian loves to visit Blue Ridge Parkway more than any other location when it comes to driving. This 469-mile strip of road has it all: mountain views, waterfalls, lakes, and steep drops. Thanks to large overhangs, you will have the perfect vantage to see acres and acres of bright leaves as they change from bright green to dark earth tones.

Another great drive is the Whitewater Way, which gets its name from the falls. As the highest waterfall east of the Rockies, this location is a must-see place for any driver. The Whitewater Way can be found on Highway 281 between Sapphire and the South Carolina border. You can also stop by the Gorges State Park or the Nantahala National Forest as well.

Hanging Rock and Pisgah Loop Scenic Byways are also great for driving. Hanging Rock is a winding road that goes straight through the Sauratown mountain chain, while the Pisgah Loop takes you along an ancient forest. Running parallel to the Blue Ridge Parkway at times, it’s the perfect place to stop by for some peaceful hiking.

Other great locations include Waterfall Byway, Meteor Lake, Mount Mitchell Scenic Byway, Tail of the Dragon, Upper Yadkin Way, and the Outer Banks Scenic Byway. You’ll learn to love driving again once you stop by these beautiful fall driving locations. Dale Earnhardt Statue

Dale Earnhardt Statue

A Fitting Tribute

Just about everyone knows the name “Dale Earnhardt.” One of the most notable race car drivers of all time, Earnhardt set an abundance of records and worked his way into all of our hearts. In Kannapolis, North Carolina, you’ll be able to find a touching tribute to him: a Dale Earnhardt statue.

One of the top NASCAR drivers of all time, Earnhardt died doing what he loved: racing. In February 2001, he was competing in the infamous Daytona 500 when his car was bumped from behind, causing him to crash into a wall head-on. His son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., finished second in the race. Tragically, Earnhardt Sr. was brought to Halifax Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

His legacy, however, has not died. You can visit his statue in nearby Kannapolis, North Carolina to pay him tribute! Earnhardt was referred to as the “working man’s” driver and his statue stands tall in that nickname, donning a button-down with rolled-up sleeves, a pair of jeans, and cowboy boots.

Over his career, Earnhardt won 76 races and 7 Winston Cup Championships, making him one of NASCAR’s greatest drivers. His “working man” nickname was given to him because of his laid-back attitude and relatability to fans.

So if you’re an Earnhardt fan, check out the Dale Earnhardt statue in his hometown of Kannapolis, and stop by The Intimidator’s actual dealership in Newton, NC at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet.
