Let’s face it, college is extremely expensive and costs are only going to go up. Those textbooks are a must-have and there’s no such thing as buying them semesters in advance. Thankfully, there is one thing you can buy in advance and have it last for your entire college career, a new (or used) car.
Everyone needs a way to get to back to school, even if you’re not exactly looking forward to it. Once you’re actually back on campus, you’re going to want to have a way to get away for a little while here and there. Or you might even want to go home for a weekend or two.
Kelley Blue Book has recently released its 2013 Top New Cars for Students list, which only includes vehicles priced under $20,000. The safety, versatility, style, fuel economy, and overall value were taken into consideration to determine the list. Jack Nerad, executive editorial director for Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com, says, “Parents and students alike will be surprised at the variety of amenity-laden, affordable new cars available on our 10 Best Back-to-School Cars list for 2013.”
We’re not surprised the 2013 Chevy Sonic made the list. The 2013 Sonic has a five-star NHTSA safety rating and the 1.4L turbo engine on the LT and LTZ models can get up to an estimated 40 mpg highway. Considering the Sonic has a starting MSRP at less than $15,000, you know you’re getting a quality car at a great value. Besides, how else are you going to get home?
