The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado offers drivers the capability they need to complete any task, no matter how tough. This incredible pickup has earned several major awards for its versatility and now a new package looks to add more to the shelf. The Chevrolet Silverado High Desert brings drivers even more flexibility in their daily lives.
The High Desert package is available on the Silverado 1500 LT, LTZ, and High Country trims. The package adds an all-new water-resistant, lockable cargo system, as well as an available Magnetic Ride Control suspension system.
The new storage system is located over the bed and includes dual side storage bins and a three-piece hard tonneau cover. Drivers can separate their cargo with an interior divider or lower it to access the full length of the bed.
The LT trim adds 20-inch wheels with all-season tires when equipped with the High Desert package. The LTZ and High Country trims offer 22-inch wheels and all-terrain tires.
The High Desert package marks the first time the Silverado pickup has been available with Magnetic Ride Control. The advanced suspension system is capable of reading the road up to 1,000 times per second and adjusting the suspension accordingly.
We here at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet can’t help but be impressed by the inspiring and practical High Desert package!
Chevy G80 Locking Rear Differential
Have you ever wondered what keeps Chevy trucks on the road and always moving forward? There’s a simple answer: the Chevy G80 locking rear differential. The technology has been a staple in Chevy trucks for over 40 years.
With the automatic locking rear axle, Chevy trucks are able to maintain traction in any kind of weather or on any terrain. If one wheel starts to spin, the G80 rear axle will automatically lock and allow both rear wheels to continue propelling the truck.
Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer said, “The G80 locking axle provides a greater traction advantage than limited-slip differentials in most situations, while its automatic engagement requires no driver involvement, unlike some competitors’ electronic lockers, which require driver interaction.”
Chevy trucks allow you to go about your business anywhere at any time without any doubts in your mind. Come visit us at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet to test-drive the new Chevy truck lineup.

“The economic recovery has led to booming sales of high-end pickups like the Silverado High Country,” said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks. “But there are also millions of customers in the heart of the market who want a great looking, well-equipped truck at an affordable price. The Silverado Custom is a truck they can be proud to own and proud to drive.”
