Bristol Motor Speedway

It’s Racing Time at Bristol

One of the most popular and successful NASCAR tracks in the US is the Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. While amateur driving schools and tours are offered at the track year-round the Bristol Motor Speedway is also the site of several major auto races every year. For the 2016 season, there are a few key NASCAR events coming up at the speedway in August, and you won’t want to miss it.

On August 17th, Bristol Motor Speedway will be hosting the UNOH 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Whelen Modified Race, which lets kids in free, with tickets starting at $30 for adult attendees. This is followed by NASCAR XFINITY Series events, the Qualifying Race and Food City 300 Race, on August 19th. All tickets can be purchased online through the speedway’s official website.

Whether you’re a local resident or out of town, Bristol Motor Speedway can offer you local hotel packages, nearby campgrounds, and point you in the direction of other lodging options for the weekends of these major events. You can also look up local attractions for while you’re here, and the speedway website provides seating charts and schedules so you’ll never lose track of time or your spot. Surround yourself with the excitement and enthusiasm of NASCAR fans and witness these adrenaline-pumping races firsthand.

Lyft Will Offer New Chevy Bolt Through Express Drive Program

Express Drive program

The Chevy Bolt Is On It’s Way

In a modern world that relies increasingly on smartphone apps and social media to streamline our daily routine, auto makers sometimes need to take a leap into the realm of technology in order to stay one step ahead of the competition. That’s why General Motors is partnering up with the Lyft ridesharing app in order to draw attention to the upcoming all-electric 2017 Chevrolet Bolt. The Bolt will be available to Lyft drivers through the app’s new Express Drive program.

There are benefits to this for both drivers and passengers. Express Drive allows Lyft drivers to rent a vehicle for free or for a significantly reduced cost to use while they’re on the job, reducing the amount of gas they use in the process. Driver and rider alike will get exposed to Chevy’s new Bolt, which is essentially free advertising for GM. Plus, the 2017 Bolt will serve as an environmentally-friendly option for Lyft drivers who want to reduce emissions while they’re on the road.

The presence of the Chevy Bolt as a rental option in the Express Drive program is only the first step in the auto maker’s long-term vision for the partnership. Ideally, the eventual goal is for General Motors to develop a network of autonomous vehicles that will be able to shuttle Lyft customers without a driver. However, as self-driving tech is still in development, that aspiration is still a few years out of sight.
