Chevrolet introduced the all-new 2017 Corvette Grand Sport at the Geneva International Motor Show. This fantastic car is built on a long history of motorsports excellence, including the 2015 Le Mans-winning Corvette C7.R GTE Pro race car.
“Racing has been part of Corvette’s essence for more than 50 years and that track experience has helped us build better, more capable cars,” said Mark Reuss, executive vice president of Global Product Development and Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, in a statement. “The global acclaim for the seventh-generation Corvette validates that direct link and the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport takes its track-bred technology to a new, exciting threshold.”
The 2017 Corvette Grand Sport incorporates a lightweight architecture, a naturally aspirated engine, Michelin tires, and a track-hone aerodynamics package. With these features, the car is predicted to offer an estimated 1.05g in cornering capabilities, and up to 1.2g with the available Z07 package.
This phenomenal car acknowledges the historic Grand Sport legacy with heritage-inspired design cues and exclusive features. The Grand Sport line was first established in 1963, but was quickly ended after only five cars were produced.
The 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport will go on sale this summer and will be available as either a coupe or convertible. We will keep you up to date when we get them in at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Charlotte, NC!
